Building a Custom Designed Swimming Pool in Central Texas

Design Consultation for the Custom Swimming Pool

Our experienced and professional Designer Consultant will come to your house to meet with you. While there they will assess your backyard and take measurements to make an accurate design. They will discuss design options and incorporate your ideas for building the custom designed swimming pool.

2D and 3D Design for the Custom Swimming Pool

Every homeowner will receive a 2-D/3-D computer generated design before we begin construction on the custom designed swimming pool.  The renderings allow you to see all the elements of your custom swimming pool design as they integrate to your home and backyard. At this stage, you can make revisions and improvements as necessary to the custom designed swimming pool. Upon approval of your design, we use this layout to create detailed engineering drawings and we begin the layout process for the custom designed swimming pool.

Materials Selection for the Custom Swimming Pool

Once a custom swimming pool design has been approved, we partner with NPT Design center and a representative will meet with you at the Design Location. Here you can see samples of tile, plaster, decking and stone and choose the ones that will work best with your custom swimming pool.

Layout/Construction Begins for the Custom Swimming Pool

This next stage is the first in the construction of your Wild West Custom Pool. Here, we lay the custom swimming pool out onto the proposed site area. This provides the opportunity to see the custom swimming pool layout of the actual size and shape of the pool. Here we can make tweaks to the size and location of the custom swimming pool before we break ground with excavation.

Excavation for the Custom Swimming Pool

Once we pass layout inspection for the custom swimming pool, we proceed on to excavation. We will remove the grass and underlying soil to the correct depths for your custom swimming pool.

Steel and Forming for the Custom Swimming Pool

We use #4 steel reinforcement while forming your custom designed swimming pool to prepare for gunite. It is used to form the shape and structure of your custom swimming pool and provide strength and integrity to the structure.

Plumbing and Electrical for the Custom Swimming Pool

Before the gunite process, we install all the plumbing and electrical components for the custom swimming pool. We ensure that the plumbing is pressure tested and the electrical meets the necessary city and state codes for a swimming pool in Texas and locality.

Gunite Application for the Custom Swimming Pool

We use a mixture of gunite that is free from Alkali-silica reaction (ASR). Our gunite application subcontractor uses a tested mix of gunite to ensure your custom swimming pool is made from a structurally appropriate mixture. Their team applies the gunite using high-pressure hoses to create the tough inner shell of your new custom swimming pool. We exceed industry standards by creating 12 inch walls. As the gunite is applied to the custom swimming pool structure, you will get an idea of what the final custom swimming pool will be.

Tile and Coping for the Custom Swimming Pool

You will see your design center selections come to life as our artisans install the custom swimming pool tile and coping. We use higher end finishes to ensure your custom swimming pool lasts for years to come.

Masonry and Stone for the Custom Swimming Pool

Our masons have a tremendous amount of pride in their craft. We have options for travertine, limestone, luedersstone and many other options for your custom swimming pool design.

Decking for the Custom Swimming Pool

This is the area around the custom swimming pool. There are many surfaces that are implemented here based on your design from the standard acrylic material to custom stone or stained and stamped concrete. During this phase, we create any features you selected in your design, such as; outdoor fireplaces, firepits, fountains, summer kitchens, pergolas, etc.

Plaster for the Custom Swimming Pool

We use quality plaster and standardize on a mini pebble for all our builds of custom swimming pools. This ensures you will have many years of use from the custom swimming pool before any major renovations are needed. The plaster is applied to the gunite and requires an experienced crew to smooth the surface to assure a beautiful finish. Then, the pool is immediately filled with water. The next 2 weeks requires the homeowners to thoroughly “brush” the custom swimming pool twice a day to ensure the smoothest surface possible. This step is essential and must be completed to ensure you have a full plaster warranty from our sub contractor.

Start up and Chemicals for the Custom Swimming Pool

Often a first-time pool owner will feel overwhelmed by the process of having a custom swimming pool. The initial start-up and maintenance of the custom swimming pool is essential to maintaining your plaster warranty. We provide our homeowner with the necessary training on how to use the controls of the custom swimming pool equipment. In addition, we provide 30 days of complementary start up care. We will add initial chemicals and monitor the chemicals to ensure a proper startup.
